  • Just the essentials! We encourage parents to bring diapers, wipes, and a change of clothes for their baby in the event of blow outs. Light blankets and pacifiers are fine for babies. Bottles are fine as well!

    In the event of over capacity, we will kindly ask for one parent to sit out, but most of the rooms we use have high capacities along with many classes a week to help ensure smaller class sizes.

  • We do not offer regular trial sessions. However, we do hold family demo classes at various popular events in the community. It's an opportunity to witness firsthand the enriching value our program brings to your baby's development and your family, allowing you to explore and appreciate the unique benefits of our classes.

    Please note that we are a pay as you go, no commitment program. If you’re interested in testing out a class, there are single class purchase options available and you will not be roped into anything. Scout’s honor!

  • Your baby will experience holistic development, including enhanced motor skills, sensory exploration, and exposure to valuable social interactions. Beyond the developmental aspect, our classes instill a love for learning and establish a robust foundation for future milestones, fostering a lifelong passion for exploration and discovery and creating the foundation.

  • Each class typically lasts 45 minutes. You are absolutely allowed and encouraged to ask questions during the 15 minute transition period in between classes.

    While you can book a one-off class, we recommend consistent attendance to reap the full benefits. This frequency is thoughtfully chosen to provide consistency, allowing for a gradual and meaningful progression through the developmental stages while accommodating the busy schedules of parents.

  • Our classrooms are this dedicated space. We recognize the immense value of community, and as such, we encourage a class model where parents can connect, share insights, and build a supportive network. This space is intentionally designed to facilitate meaningful connections and the exchange of experiences, creating a sense of camaraderie among our parent community.

You are welcome and encouraged to comfort your baby as needed. We want a positive class experience for both baby and parent. It’s important to keep in mind that new environments can be over stimulating for a baby. This is normal occurrence and a normal reaction. You are your baby’s comfort.

  • Yes! A changing table is available in the 2nd floor bathroom.

  • Yes! All of our classes are breastfeeding friendly. Please feel free to feed your baby during class in the best way that suits your family.

  • Yes! If you are attending classes at the JCC, please note that the facility has elevator access to reach the 2nd floor and lower levels. You can leave your stroller parked outside the classroom.

  • If you are attending classes at the JCC, there is a dedicated parking lot with MANY parking spots. We promise you will never be circling the parking lot or left to try to find street parking.

  • No registration fees! We’re upfront with our costs. No hidden fees ever.

  • No, Happy Day Play is not a daycare.

  • No, Happy Day Play is not a drop-off program for children. We do not offer independent programs without the supervision of a parent or caretaker.

  • Happy Day Play is based in Staten Island, NY. We partner with the community to bring our classes to life. We are partnered with the JCC of Staten island at the JCC Bernikow 1466 Manor Rd, Staten Island, NY 10314 and select family classes at JCC Avis South Shore, 1297 Arthur Kill Rd, Staten Island, NY 10308.
